Having gratitude is really taking a moment to be thankful for what we have in our lives.
This can be as simple as being grateful for having the time to make it to your yoga mat to practice to having gratitude for your loved ones or other things in your life. Practicing gratitude over time helps keep things in perspective and can make you feel a lot happier with what you have, plus strengthen your relationships! Here are some ways you can start to incorporate gratitude into your life:
1.Keeping a gratitude journal
Keep a small notebook next to your bed and every morning when you wake up write down something you are grateful for, it can be big or small, you might just be grateful for your comfy pillow!
2. Find a gratitude buddy
Similar to the journal, but instead of writing it down you find a friend and message each other what you are grateful for every morning.
3. Create your own ritual
Choose a time that suits you, it might be before each practice, or while you are brushing your teeth and take a moment to think about something you are grateful for. Pick a time, stick to it and make it work for you.
4. Get involved
Find a cause that you are passionate about and get involved! It might be making a donation or volunteering your time. By joining in you will appreciate the organisation and they will appreciate your help!
The more you practice, the easier it gets and who doesn’t want to feel happier 🙂
